As a Health and Social Care trainer, your main role is to guide adult learners in enhancing their skills to support the advancement of existing health and social care professionals. Through your dedication, you'll empower learners with the knowledge and practical abilities needed for success in their careers. Your efforts in creating an engaging learning atmosphere will directly impact the growth and achievement of our learners as they progress toward becoming proficient and compassionate professionals in the field.

  • Design and deliver effective teaching sessions, workshops, and tutorials aligned with curriculum requirements and individual learner needs.
  • Assess learner's strengths and areas for improvement, adjusting teaching methods and resources accordingly.
  • Create interactive sessions using various teaching techniques to enhance learner understanding and participation.
  • Offer personalized support to learners through individual meetings and supplementary resources.
  • Monitor learner progress closely, providing feedback and implementing strategies for improvement.
  • Develop assessments and provide constructive feedback to support learner development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to curriculum enhancement.
  • Foster an inclusive learning environment that promotes learner participation and confidence.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner progress and adhere to regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate regularly with learners, employers, and stakeholders to provide updates and address concerns.

Person Specification:

Qualifications and Training:

  • Hold at least a Level 3 teaching, learning, and assessment qualification, such as AET or PTLLS, or be willing to work towards obtaining one.
  • Possess a subject specialism at Level 4 or higher.
  • Hold a Level 3 CAVA qualification or equivalent, or be willing to work towards achieving it.
  • Have GCSE (or equivalent) qualifications in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Possess a full driving licence.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated extensive hands-on experience and a successful track record within the Health and Social Care sector.
  • Previous experience in teaching or training, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information.
  • Prior experience working as a health and social care tutor or in a similar training role.

Knowledge:

  • Thorough understanding of health and social care practices, sector regulations, and health and safety protocols.
  • Established network within the health and social care sector for potential employer partnerships.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and connect with learners.
  • Strong organizational abilities for planning, preparing, and delivering impactful training sessions.
  • Possess patience, adaptability, and the capability to tailor teaching, learning, and assessment methods to suit various learning styles.
  • Proficient in IT for the creation and management of digital training resources.
