Trainer / Teacher / Entertainment Technology and Production IndustryProfessionalTraining Instructor with a highly creative and innovative approach to teaching entertainment technology and production is required for a well-established organisation based in South Kirkby, West Yorkshire.

Previous teaching and/or training experience would be an advantage but is not essential to this role.

Candidates must have professional experience of Entertainment Technology and Production and demonstrable experience in at least one of the following areas within Production for the stage and/or screen:

  • Production Management
  • Stating and Rigging
  • Lighting Technologies
  • Live Sound Technologies
  • Audio Visual Technologies

SALARY: £28,000 - £35,000 per annum (DOE) + Benefits

LOCATION: South Kirkby, West Yorkshire (WF9)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 40 hours per week, 8.30am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday (occasional weekend and evening work will be required)

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Trainer / Teacher / Entertainment Technology and Production Industry Training Instructor Professional with a highly creative and innovative approach to teaching entertainment technology and production.

As the Trainer / Teacher / Entertainment Technology and Production Industry Training Instructor Professional you will have a primary commitment to technical instruction and training across the organisations education portfolio (Short Courses, Undergraduate and Postgraduate) and campuses, contributing to the development of curriculum.

Working as the Trainer / Teacher / Entertainment Technology and Production Industry Training Instructor Professional you will have a 'can do attitude’ and will join the exciting and rapidly expanding team at the organisation where you will be expected to engage with enterprise activity, as well as your own professional development.

DUTIES

Your duties as Trainer / Teacher / Entertainment Technology and Production Industry Training Instructor Professional will include:

  • Work with Professional bodies or relevant industry contacts to develop student or educational opportunities for the course
  • Engage in subject professional training as required to support teaching activities
  • Developing and maintaining links with industry and other partners as required
  • Delivery and teaching of classes, projects, and other learning activities within the framework of the courses
  • Supporting collaboration between courses
  • Delivering classes in both practice and theory to students
  • Provision of tutorial guidance and support to students
  • Delivery and coordination of teaching and learning in conjunction with lecturers
  • Supervision of students’ work on projects and assignments
  • Participation in formal and informal assessment meetings
  • Responsibility for administration (timetable, attendance records, assessment, etc.,) in support of teaching/training
  • Work to the agreed budget and resources, including liaising with existing industry partners, and to recommend new partners where appropriate
  • Work with colleagues across the Academy to ensure the highest possible standards of student experience in terms of:
    • Course promotion (provision of material, contribution to open days and other recruitment activities on and off-site)
    • Student progression
    • Student recruitment
    • Student induction
    • Learning support
    • Disability support
  • Ensure that students are appropriately supported and provided with timely and constructive guidance for their academic development and pastoral care, fulfilling the policies and procedures of the Academy

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Professional experience of Entertainment Technology and Production
  • A primary specialism and demonstrable experience in at least one of the following areas within Production for the stage and/or screen:
    • Production Management
    • Staging and Rigging
    • Lighting Technologies
    • Live Sound Technologies
    • Audio Visual Technologies
  • Familiarity with contemporary live event performance and production and their cultural, social and industry contexts
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to pastoral and academic support of students
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly in changing circumstances
  • Ability to network with others, including negotiating with a variety of partner individuals and organisations
  • Recent experience of working in a technical or design role in the Live Events or Broadcast Industries
