Prospero Teaching are seeking individuals who would like a career as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant. Ideally you will have some previous experience working closely with children or supporting adults with additional needs, but we also consider those with no experience of either but have a desire to start.

We are working closely with schools that offer education support to those with moderate and complex learning difficulties, autism, speech & language difficulties and Social, emotional & mental health difficulties.

Teaching assistants are required to join the team, supporting students aged 5-16 years old throughout their academic day on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.

The role is working in SEN Support and will consist of:

Providing tailored support and working with children with SEMH and SEN (special education needs)
Creating a safe environment that allows the children to have fun, learn and succeed
Academic support of a 1:1 basis or in small groups
Assisting the teacher

The Ideal Candidate:

Teaching assistant qualification would be desired but not essential
Experience of supporting pupils with SEN on a voluntary or paid basis OR
Experience of working with children in a youth setting/brownies/guides/scouts/DofE/sports coach

Contract Type Temporary (with possible permanent opportunities)
Minimum Daily Rate - £85
Hours 8.30-3.30pm (Term Time only) Monday Friday
Start Date ASAP

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
