Trainee SEN Teaching Assistant - Leeds

Engage Education are currently looking to recruit a number of trainee teaching assistants to work in one of our specialist schools in Leeds.

We are wanting to hear from people from a range of backgrounds: health and social care, youth work, sports coaching etc.

We are partnered with a training provider called Creative Education which offers a range of online learning for those wanting to work within education.

In addition to this we also offer a Team Teach training course which teaches positive behaviour management strategies emphasising de-escalation and positive handling in conflict management.

We will ensure you have completed the required training course prior to your first placement in a school.

What we’re looking for:

• Available to work 5 days per week is desirable (school hours 08:30 to 15:30)
• Willing to work with learners of all age groups and abilities including those with SEN and SEMH needs.
• Committed to learning both online, in person and on the job.
• Enthusiastic and the ability to be proactive and engaging when in school
• The ability to build rapport with young people
