Trainee Sales Estimator

£30,000 + (depending on experience) + full hands on training + uncapped bonus + progression

A rare and exciting opportunity for an Engineering, or similar, degree educated individual looking for an exciting role in Estimating where you will be fully trained, with the chance to increase your earnings and status with uncapped commission and progression.

You will receive all the necessary training, including in depth training on lightning protection systems, estimating basics, and anything else you feel as you might need. This is a very varied role, where you will be involved in the design and administration duties to deliver quotations to clients promptly, meeting all relevant requirements to keep the highest of standards. This will involve creating drawings in 2D CAD and Paint.net, adhering to design risk assessments and technical submittals. You will be in the office five days a week to allow you to throw yourself into the practical side of things, using the respective equipment and high tech printers available at the offices.

The other side of the role involves the client engagement side, where you will be delivering the sale to clients, which vary from CEO's of tier 1 contractors to on site staff. You will be their point of contact throughout the delivery of this estimation and therefore should enjoy building relationships and problem solving. You should be comfortable with the idea of working to sales targets set by the business development director, with the mindset that you will reap the financial rewards.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone how has an eye for detail, yet a hunger and desire to achieve great things.

The role:

  • Negotiate with clients to secure contract orders
  • Review client enquiries and liaise over discrepancies
  • Carry out design risk assessments and create technical drawings and details.
  • Be the point of contact for clients throughout, maintain a strong and honest relationship


The person:

  • Has an engineering degree ideally but would consider other degrees
  • Determined and switched on
  • Highly literate
  • Enjoys building relationships with people
