Trainee Pensions Administrator

Our large multinational financial services client requires driven individuals to join their dynamic and growing workforce as a Trainee Pensions Administrator. This position is a permanent job and the client is looking for ambitious individuals with an aptitude to learn and progress. As this is a trainee role candidates are expected to have little/no experience in Pensions administration but can demonstrate key competences which will suit the role.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.

Office flexibility: Working from Home availability (2 days per week). Office based 3 x days.

Salary: Up to £25k per annum PLUS benefits.

Key Requirements: The candidate is not expected to have much, if any, experience in pensions administration but have an appreciation for financial services and can demonstrate their aptitude for learning.

  1. Good Communication skills; both verbal and written.
  2. Logical Approach to Problem solving.
  3. Ability to prioritise workload.
  4. A willingness to study and progress with the Pensions Management institute.
  5. Ability to work as part of a team.
  6. Good IT skills; all MS software, databases and presentations.
  7. An understanding of general ethical principles and the underpinnings of PMI.
  8. General Management responsibility; understanding and complying with corporate policy and procedure and the legal and regulatory obligations.

Duties: Candidate will administer corporate pension schemes in accordance with the required standards and deadlines as set by the contract.

  • Carry out pension administration tasks and calculations accurately and in accordance with internal processes and company policies, adhering to procedures and standards regarding work and conduct.
  • Draft correspondence and reports.
  • Manage logging in and out of post.
  • Assisting the consultant/account manager with any documentation they require with carrying out their responsibilities.
  • Ensure client work is processed in timely manner and within target dates.
  • Prioritise work to ensure service level agreements are maintained.
  • Assisting team members as required and provide support to team Leader.
  • Deal with non-standard client/member queries.
  • Day to day client responsibility, under guidance.
  • To ensure own work is peer reviewed as appropriate.
  • Carry out such other duties and take on additional responsibilities as may be agreed from time to time.

Qualifications: The client has not indicated required qualifications but it is expected that a demonstration of either good experience within similar sectors (such as FS), and/or good qualifications to Degree level should have been obtained.
