Time Appointments are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established, leading transport company based in Felixstowe who are currently seeking a Freight Forwarder to join their successful team.This client prides themselves on providing an excellent service to their customers, as well as valuing their employee’s growth and successes, offering a competitive salary alongside a great benefits package!
Responsibilities:
- Looking after day to day operations on the Import department desk
- Becoming knowledgeable of the Import market
- Communicating between clients and suppliers on a daily / regular basis
- Sending bookings
- Transport planning across the EU to UK
- Negotiating costs between clients & suppliers
- Progressing knowledge base on European transport companies client requirements
- Building strong working relationships with clients & suppliers
- Maintain and build upon the progression of the Import department
- Collaborate with other operational departments when needed
- Completing activities to increase brand awareness and generate new leads
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge & experience in the freight industry
- Energetic attitude to introduce to a fast paced operations environment
- Excellent communication, phone manner and customer service skills
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a strong desire to succeed
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
- Willingness to learn & grow within the logistics industry
- Basic computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft office
