Trainee Freight Forwarder

Responsibilities:

• Looking after day to day operations on the Import department desk
• Becoming knowledgeable of the Import market
• Communicating between clients and suppliers on a daily / regular basis
• Sending bookings
• Transport planning across the EU to UK
• Negotiating costs between clients & suppliers
• Progressing knowledge base on European transport companies client requirements
• Building strong working relationships with clients & suppliers
• Maintain and build upon the progression of the Import department
• Collaborate with other operational departments when needed
• Completing activities to increase brand awareness and generate new leads

Requirements:

• Basic knowledge & experience in the freight industry
• Energetic attitude to introduce to a fast paced operations environment
• Excellent communication, phone manner and customer service skills
• Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a strong desire to succeed
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
• Willingness to learn & grow within the logistics industry
• Basic computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft office
