Trainee Finance Assistant (AAT Opportunity)
Exeter, Devon
£25,000 per annum

Our client, a market-leading supplier in the UK, are looking for an enthusiastic Trainee Finance Assistant to join them on a permanent, full-time basis. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone in the early stages of their career who is either starting or already studying for the AAT qualification. You may have some experience in sales ledger work and a keen interest in furthering your financial skills. If you're ambitious, eager to learn, and ready to gain valuable experience, this role could be the perfect next move for you.

This Trainee Finance Assistant (AAT Opportunity) role is based at the client's offices outside of Exeter with hybrid working available. They have established and maintained their position as a market leader and expert in their field by continuous investment into: processes, products and personnel.

The responsibilities:

  • Following up with customers to obtain necessary documentation and verify deliveries, while also addressing any discrepancies.
  • Matching customer claims with returns documentation and rebate agreements, and inputting relevant data into the accounting system.
  • Collaborating with all Senior Managers across the business to ensure timely resolution of Transportation Management System (TMS) queries, including coordination with the business's Accountant.
  • Generating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to TMS, such as metrics for overtime and sickness.
  • Issuing purchase orders.
  • Recording goods and services received in the Goods Received Note (GRN) when they arrive.
  • Providing support for other finance roles within the organisation as needed.
  • Undertaking additional ad hoc duties as required.

The candidate:

  • Previous administrative experience, as well as ideally having worked within a finance-based role.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems (preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Demonstrated strong numerical aptitude and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
