Trainee Driller
As a Trainee Driller, your primary responsibilities will involve assisting lead drillers in carrying out cable percussion, rotary, and window sampling boreholes. Additionally, you will be expected to perform general site labor duties such as digging, clearing vegetation and obstructions, and material handling. There may be occasions where you'll assist in geotechnical soil testing in Concept's laboratory or conduct water and gas monitoring installations. Training will be provided for all tasks mentioned above. Flexibility is essential as you may be required to work on-site anywhere in the UK or abroad, and occasional secondments with partner organizations may also be necessary.
Key Tasks:
- Digging trial pits and collecting soil samples.
- Breaking out concrete and other obstructions.
- Maintaining site cleanliness and tidiness.
- Assisting Lead Drillers with cable percussive boring and window sampling.
- Delivery/collection of materials/equipment to sites.
- Assisting with site mobilization/demobilization.
- Conducting gas and water monitoring as required.
- Assisting in the laboratory as needed.

- Sound understanding of the English language.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working on own initiative.
- Flexible and capable of understanding health and safety issues.
- Organized with basic experience in using handheld electrical equipment and working on building sites.
- Ability to understand the operation of machinery and plant.
