I am currently recruiting for a leading Lloyd's MGA who are seeking a Trading Underwriter to join their New Business team.

Someone with 2/3+ years underwriting experience within commercial combined products is essential for this role within the SME - Mid Market region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and enhance the portfolio of new business and broker connections, with a focus on service and transactions.
  • Evaluate and assess new business quotes for all products within our underwriting parameters, addressing any inquiries within the business's service level agreements.
  • Maintain regular communication with Business Development Managers to nurture broker relationships.
  • Serve as a resource for junior license holders.
  • Collaborate closely with the team to meet service level agreements and uphold strong broker connections through excellent customer service.
  • Handle phone inquiries from brokers professionally and courteously.
  • Operate within the guidelines of the Underwriting License and refer to the Underwriting guide or seek guidance from senior colleagues when needed.
  • Proactively seek ways to improve processes and support corporate objectives within the scope of the role.
  • Ensure that customer outcomes are delivered by Group trading entities in a compliant manner, following the principles of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF).
