Our client, an industry leading organisation which provides award winning, time critical logistics solutions, are recruiting for a Trade Compliance Specialist to be based at offices in the London Heathrow area.

This is a temporary role with the potential to lead to longer term or a permanent leadership role.

Main Purpose of the Role:

Reporting to Senior Management, the Trade Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring regulatory and best practice compliance across the Group as well as using effective change management to drive performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Overall Remit:

  • Ensure that all regions meet statutory requirements for the Aviation / Aerospace industry.
  • Set a robust corporate compliance framework, that embraces industry leading controls and performance levels, that drives embedded engagement throughout the business.
  • Establish relevant KPI and performance measurements that result in continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that internal / external annual audit programmes are effective to confirm compliance against all relevant regulatory and industry standards. Ensure that audit non-conformances are prioritised, and effective remedial action plans are implemented within agreed timeframes.
  • Gathering information for reporting/market changes or trends to present to senior management
  • Oversight of regulatory filings to government bodies (i.e., HMRC, Census Bureau, AES etc)
  • Monitor and report breaches to the Executive Team
  • Prepare and present a monthly progress/activity report to the Executive Team

Trade Compliance:

  • Background checking of Customers with the primary goal of maintaining our professional credibility
  • Ensure that annual licensing requirements and compliance-related training and certifications at all sites is completed.
  • Managing product use, and end user / final destination confirmations
  • Ensuring compliance with import and export regulations
  • Overseeing compliance with sanctions, embargo, PEP’s etc
  • Working with the Customer Solutions team to support clients with customs compliance advice by providing practical solutions within the regulatory framework
  • Ensure that all team members are upskilled on regional relevant regulatory compliance (including export licenses, permits, certifications etc)

Technical Assurance:

  • Ensures managers and staff receive the communication and instructions needed to act in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Provide a 'ask the expert technical forum’ through which team members can learn and develop

To Be Considered:

  • Extensive trade compliance experience
  • Trade/ import / export compliance experience with the US market is essential
  • Be available to start immediately
