Mig/Tig Welder

Location: Telford, TF3

Pay: £13.50ph

Working: Days

Kerry Collins is recruiting for a Tig/Mig welder for our well-established, family run business based in the Telford area.

Key duties/Responsibilities

  • Read design drawings for the purpose of manufacturing.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate welding equipment i.e. electronic welders, gas shielded arc welders and gas welders.
  • Select appropriate electrodes, gas orifices, filters rods and / or torch tips based on type of materials being welded and desired head size and penetration for correct welds.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and complete items of equipment by using metal forming and cutting tools such as presses, punches, benders, threaders, and drills to make shapes and cut parts to be welded.
  • Perform works as assigned within designated timescale, efficiently, and to the required standard to ensure standards conform to client and customer specifications.
  •  Accept and unload any delivery of raw material, manufacturing consumables, parts etc.in line with company procedure and in a safe manner.
  •  Notify office-based colleagues in a timely manner of any issues which require tools or associated production materials, consumables etc.to be ordered so that colleagues can ensure they are available for use when required on site.
  •  Complete Job cards, and note down production times for each process, down-time/lost production time, and other details required by the business to assist with internal costings, pricing etc.
  • Clean and maintain the tools, machinery and equipment being used, to ensure optimum use.
  • Clean and maintain working area and environment to a tidy and safe standard, especially if on site at customer premises.
  • Following induction/training, work with minimum supervision to meet the business objectives.
  •  Ensure compliance with Company Policies and Procedures and Health & Safety Policies.
  •  Cooperate with and assist colleagues, always ensuring positive team-working and relationships.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties not specifically stated within this job description, as requested by your manager or a director.
