Hours: 10.30pm - 8.30am

Work with us at SWAAY to re-parent traumatised and abused children, supporting them to achieve their aspirations, whilst we support you to achieve yours!

For over 30 years, SWAAY have been providing specialised, high-quality care for young males aged 11-18 with developmental trauma, attachment difficulties and who have displayed sexually harmful behaviour.

We are looking for caring and committed Waking Night Workers to join us in continuing to provide outstanding tailored therapeutic support to our young people within our 4 bed residential homes.

As a Waking Night Worker at SWAAY it is essential that you are able to remain awake and alert throughout your shift, in order to safeguard our young people. You will work with openness and compassion, with an ability to set and maintain boundaries to keep our young people safe.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive home environment
  • Supervise and record movements during the night
  • Promote and look after the health and well-being of each child
  • Work in line with the young people’s risk assessments and emotional & behavioural response plans
  • Recognise, respond to and record any safeguarding concerns, ensuring accurate records are kept
  • You may already have experience working with young people in a residential setting, or this may be a new career move for you, no matter what your previous experience may be, we are committed to developing you in your new position. It would be great if you have an NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), however if not, we will enroll you onto the diploma and fully support you in achieving this qualification.
