We are currently looking for a Control Centre Operative for a Telecare company based in Kent.

This 24/7, 365 days a week service providing a high-level service to the elderly who live independently.

We are currently offering full and part-time hours with a rota of 2 days on 7am-7pm, 2 nights on 7pm-7am and 4 days/nights off.

This a busy and varied role so the successful candidate will have to be able to think on their feet, have experience working with vulnerable service users and have a clear understanding of telecare/heath or has worked with telecare previously. Previous experience within telecare would be an advantage.

Full training will be provided and we will also require you to have a SIA licence however, should you have strong attributes regarding the role the client would be open the right person gain this licence.

Some of the duties will include:

  • Monitor and deal with all incoming Telecare calls in accordance with company procedures, making appropriate records of each call and the action taken. This could result in summoning assistance (calling emergency services, relatives etc.), reassuring the service user and testing of equipment etc. You will report to the Control Centre Shift Supervisor or Operations Manager immediately any technical problems or failing of any of the systems.
  • The post holder will be required to contact and liaise with clients, staff, elected members and representatives of agencies, outside organisations companies, etc.
  • A keen interest in assistive technology and how it facilitates independent living.
  • A passion for helping and supporting vulnerable individuals, with some knowledge of Community Care particularly with regard to the circumstances and needs of vulnerable individuals i.e. elderly, disabled, or those suffering from ill health.

Desirable criteria for applicants (although full training will be provided)

  • Previous experience in the monitoring of CCTV systems and the relevant legislations in relation to operational duties
