Technical Support Specialist - 6 months FTC

We are seeking a dedicated and technically skilled individual to fill the position of a Technical Support Specialist on a 6-month fixed-term contract (FTC) in the heart of Cwmbran. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, resolving, and preventing technical issues while ensuring the smooth operation of our industrial manufacturing processes.

Description

• Provide first-line technical support to end users facing issues with hardware, software, and networking
• Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues, documenting problems and solutions for future reference
• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and software within the organisation
• Assist in the training of staff on new technologies and systems
• Collaborate with the technology team to ensure smooth operation of all software and hardware installed
• Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams or vendors
• Contribute to the development of IT procedures and policies within the company
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry and company IT standards and regulations

Profile

A successful Technical Support Specialist should have:

• A background in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field
• Proven experience in a technical support role or similar
• Solid understanding of computer systems, networks, and software
• Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills
• A customer-focused approach, with a passion for delivering high-quality IT support
