Elevation Recruitment Group are currently working with a leading chemical engineering manufacturing business in the recruitment of an Applications Engineer. You will play a key role in developing and optimizing processes, products, and applications to meet the needs of our customers and drive growth in our business. Key responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with customers to understand their requirements and develop customized solutions to meet their needs, utilizing our chemical engineering manufacturing capabilities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including R&D, engineering, maintenance, facilities, and production, to develop and optimize processes and products for specific applications and industries.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, technical evaluations, and process simulations to assess the viability and scalability of new products and applications.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to sales and marketing teams, including participating in customer meetings, product presentations, and technical discussions.
  • Lead or support new product development projects from concept to commercialization, including process design, optimization, and scale-up activities.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to chemical engineering manufacturing, and incorporate them into our product development and application strategies.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including reports, specifications, and presentations, to communicate project findings and recommendations effectively.

Desired skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field; advanced degree desireable
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a hands on engineering position, with a focus on process development, applications engineering, or product development / maintenance – experience in maintenance / process engineering etc. to strengthen your understanding of various machinery and supplementing products used in the upkeep of this machinery is beneficial
  • Strong technical knowledge of chemical engineering principles, processes, and equipment, with experience in chemical manufacturing or process / metal working industries beneficial
  • Proficiency in the use of CRM software (MS Dynamics, HubSpot, Salesforce) is helpful
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical abilities, with a demonstrated track record of delivering innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
