Technical Sales Specialist
South/South-East of England (incl; London, Home Counties & Cambridgeshire)
£40,000 - £45,000 per annum (Plus Generous Commission, Company Car and several benefits)

Our client, a prominent manufacturing business experiencing significant growth, is actively seeking a dynamic Technical Sales Specialist to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Technical Sales Specialist will drive sales development and achieve targets across the southern and south-eastern regions. This role, based from home, is ideally suited for a candidate adept at field-based sales, offering technical solutions to our customers.

The responsibilities:

  • Recognising potential sales prospects by staying informed about market trends and customer needs, and nurturing strong client relationships.
  • Utilising time efficiently to maximise face-to-face interactions with customers within assigned territories.
  • Progressing leads provided by the team to the sales stage as appropriate.
  • Engaging in customer visits to comprehend their requirements and applications, fostering a strong preference for business products and solutions.
  • Presenting quotations as proposals to potential customers, emphasising the value and pricing structure of business offerings.
  • Ensuring timely follow-up on quotations and addressing customer objections to secure orders.
  • Utilising various sales techniques such as customer site demonstrations and mini exhibitions to generate interest in products.
  • Attending exhibitions and sales development events, both within and outside assigned territories, as necessary.
  • Participating in all relevant in-house company meetings, including sales meetings and product trainings.
  • Reporting regularly and as needed on sales activities, market conditions, and competitive developments within the sales territory.

The candidate:

  • Proven experience within Field Sales, Scientific or Technical Sales Background is considered desirable.
  • Ability to comprehend customer applications and needs, often within the realms of science and chemistry, and translate them into sales benefits and offerings.
  • Strong organisational skills and self-motivation to effectively manage a significant sales territory.

No direct industry experience is necessarily required; however, this would suit someone from a solution sales background. Perhaps you have laboratory experience or even a PHD in Chemistry but keen to expand your sales career?
