Location: Andover

Salary: £45,000 - £48,000 per annum DOE

Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently supporting our client in the search for a Technical Manager (Heating Bias).

You will be joining a well established and expanding business within the HVAC industry. Our client stock a full range of Chillers, Boilers, Heaters, Air Conditioners, Air Purifiers and Dehumidifiers. Our client manufacture their containerised Boilers and also service and maintain their hire fleet, delivering pristine hire equipment to customers across the country.

Our client is keen to offer opportunities to Ex-Military personnel, but all applications will be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Technical Manager:

  • This will be a mobile position attending site, carrying out site surveys, audits, contingency planning and project managing installs.
  • Site and customer management.
  • Provide technical and practical support to engineers in the delivery of HVAC projects.
  • Quoting for all elements of a project, including equipment, labour, and transport.
  • Building detailed RAMS for clients and the sales team.
  • Support technical standards and operational policies across every element of the business.
  • Project planning and management.
  • H&S compliance and awareness within RAMS for project delivery with guidance from our HSEQ manager.
  • Although a heating & DHW bias role, our work is seasonal so you will be expected to also take ownership of cooling projects with the support of the rest of the team.
  • This also applies in reverse; you will be expected to support our cooling bias Technical Managers.
  • Participate in the OOH on-call managers rote.

Desirable attributes:

  • HVAC design software experience.
  • H+S qualification like NEBOSH or similar
  • Previous project management experience.
  • Employment history within the Hire industry.
  • Air/heat source knowledge.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 in HVAC engineering or a related M&E field.
  • 2+ years of experience in HVAC, with a strong focus on heating & DHW systems.
  • Proficiency in MS software and able to use a tablet for reporting and auditing.
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and enjoy working under pressure.
  • Mechanically minded.
  • Able to juggle several projects at a time across multiple sites and geographical locations.
