***Technical Data Migration Specialist required in Welwyn Garden city ****

Duration- 6 months with scope for extension

Hybrid working 2 days a week office based.

Day rate competitive via Umbrella only

My client is a blue chip FMCG and retail brand that serve millions of customers every week from all over the globe. With over 6,000 stores internationally my client is a well-known household name that offer several exciting opportunities

Responsibilities:
* Lead the design, planning, and management of the data migration process, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
* Develop a comprehensive data migration strategy detailing extract, transform, and load processes from multiple legacy systems to a single system across a multi-year delivery timeline, including loading into a live system.
* Develop best practices, migration principals, processes, and standards for effectively carrying out data migration activities.
* Collaborate with subject matter experts and project teams to identify, define, document, and communicate data migration requirements.
* Manage assigned risks and monitor potential impacts as part of the data migration plan.
* Work both independently and within a team environment, across multiple functional projects, to understand data usage and implications for migration.
* Gather technical requirements for data migration needs from customers and stakeholders.
* Conduct source system data analysis to manage source-to-target data mapping effectively.
* Perform migration and testing of static data and transaction data from one core system to another.
* Create end-user documentation for the new repository and provide mentoring and training as needed.
* Attach metadata to documents by analyzing their content or working with knowledgeable owners or teams.
* Update and maintain a database of records indexing and referencing archived documents.
* Migrate key documents from legacy tools to a common SharePoint-based repository following established processes.

Requirements:
* Strong experience with software development tools and technologies.
* Proficiency in PL/SQL, SQL Plus, SQL Loader, SQL Server, and ETL processes.
* Familiarity with SQL and XML.
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
* Ability to provide guidance, assistance, coordination, and follow-up on client questions, problems, or malfunctions related to feed systems applications.
* Proactive in informing management of potential problems and identifying problem trends.
* Familiarity with MS Access databases is a plus.

Desired Skills:
* Familiarity with establishing guiding principles and constraints for data migration within a program.
* Experience defining data cut-over approaches and conducting impact assessments.
* Ability to define requirements and low-level details for data migration, including data sources, types, rules, and transformation.
* Experience agreeing on RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed) and decision-making structures for data migration decisions.
* Proficiency in scoping workshops and stakeholder engagement.
