The starting salary for this position is £24,977 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.

We are excited to be hiring a new Team Administrator to join our fantastic Fostering Business Support Team. This is a varied, interesting and rewarding role based at our Reigate or Woking Office. You won't be required to be in the office 5 days a week, however there is a requirement to work in the office at least two days a week.

This is an 18 month fixed term contract or secondment opportunity.

About the Team

Surrey County Council's 'Children, Families and Learning' directorate provides a range of highly specialist services to vulnerable children and young people.

The Fostering Business Support Team plays an instrumental role in the recruitment and retention of Foster Carers, making a positive contribution towards improving the lives of children in Surrey.

About the Role

As a member of our Fostering Business Support Team, you will play an integral role by providing proactive, resilient and flexible support to the Fostering Service. You will seamlessly deliver administrative tasks with an exceptional level of detail, focus and efficiency. You will be able to adapt easily to the changing needs of the service, working successfully both as part of a team and individually.

As a motivated, enthusiastic and ambitious individual with a strong administration background, you will be joining a team that places a premium on exceptional service delivery and ongoing development.

This is a really varied role but some key tasks that you will be involved in includes:

  • Supporting Foster Carer applications by processing relevant checks
  • Answering and directing calls from Foster Carers
  • Accurately recording and uploading information received onto a central database and updating and maintaining spreadsheets
  • Managing email duty boxes, prioritising urgent alerts and requests
  • Administrative tasks such as post, photocopying, formatting documents and basic IT support

Shortlisting Criteria

  • Experience of processing confidential information
  • Exceptional organisation and prioritisation
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proactiveness and adaptability
  • Excellent IT skills, with specific focus on Microsoft 365 applications including Excel, Word and SharePoint.
