Hours Mon-Fri (8.30am – 3.30pm

Smart Education is currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work in Burton-on-Trent.

Job Requirements of this Teaching Assistant job in Burton-on-Trent

  • Assist in managing and supporting students with challenging behaviour in a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) school setting
  • Implement behaviour management strategies in collaboration with the teaching staff.
  • Provide one-to-one support and small group interventions to address individual student needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour incidents.
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum and achieving their educational goals.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.

Qualifications or Certificates:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Teaching Assistance or equivalent.
  • Relevant certificates or training in behaviour management and safeguarding.

Experience:

  • Proven experience working with challenging behaviour within a school environment or similar setting.
  • Experience working with secondary-age students.
  • Familiarity with behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and provide appropriate support and guidance.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by students attending a PRU school.
  • Age Group: Secondary-age students (typically 11-16 years old).
