Do you want to take the next step in your Teaching Assistant career? Can you offer exceptional support in a Y2 class, helping the children to flourish and forming a great team with the teacher?

Prospero Teaching are working with a successful and welcoming primary school in Trafford that is looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work in their Year 2 class. The role is to start after half term and in until Christmas. You must have experience working in a UK school and ideally hold the Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification. Your role will be to work with groups and individuals across all areas of the curriculum, particularly Maths, Reading and Writing. You must have knowledge and experience of supporting groups in Phonics and Guided Reading. The school would love to add someone to their team who is kind, upbeat and proactive.

You will also be required to carry out a range of Teaching Assistant duties:

  • Lead groups in core learning activities
  • Support individuals with 1:1 reading
  • Make assessments and record data
  • Work closely with the class teacher to plan and prepare activities
  • Prepare resources for activities
  • Manage behaviour effectively

Essential requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service
  • 2 years' references
  • Experience working in a UK primary school
