This is a mainstream primary school who are looking for X2 special educational needs teaching assistants to support children in KS1 with Autism. The roles are ideally to start on 20th May until the end of the academic year with a potential contract for September.
As an experienced and aspiring special educational needs (SEND) teaching assistant/learning support assistant you will support children in KS1 with Autism. This is a mainstream primary school based in East Leeds.
This school provides a safe learning and nurturing environment for pupils with autism (ASD/ASC) as well as other additional needs. The school is looking for a focused and skilled Special Needs Teaching Assistants to provide a high standard of support for these children.
* The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children with SEND, particularly autism (ASD/ASC).
* Candidates with experience working with children, SEND and/or the care industry will also be considered.
* Any experience with PECS would be very useful.
* A can do attitude and a willingness to help in other areas of the classroom
* The ability to use initiative and work well under pressure
* The ability to communicate effectively with the children and other staff members
