Horizon Teachers are working with an inclusive Primary School located in the heart of Waltham Forest. This school is committed to providing high-quality education for their students, fostering a safe and nurturing environment, and promoting a love of learning. They are now seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join their KS1 team and contribute to the success of their school.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the class teachers and students in their educational journey. You will work closely with the teaching staff to create a positive and engaging learning environment, provide 1:1 or small group support to students, and assist in various classroom activities.

What will your responsibilities be?
  • Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons.
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils, including those with special educational needs.
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour management.
  • Prepare and set up lessons and activities.
  • Encourage a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Help maintain an organised classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure the well-being and academic progress of pupils.

What do you need to be successful in this role?
  • A good understanding of the National Curriculum.
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
