Position: Teaching Assistant

Location: Islington, North London

Start Date: Immediate

About Us: Classroom Support is partnering with a reputable SEN school in Islington to find a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant. Our school provides high-quality education to students across all Key Stages with a variety of additional learning needs, including social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties, as well as Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties.

Role Overview: As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing personalised support to students, both individually and in small groups. Your responsibilities will include implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs), managing challenging behaviour effectively, and collaborating closely with class teachers to ensure student's needs are met.

Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN.
  • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) effectively.
  • Manage challenging behaviour in a positive and supportive manner.
  • Collaborate closely with class teachers to support classroom activities.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEN is desirable.
  • Training in Team Teach or similar behavioural management training is advantageous.
  • Passion for supporting SEN children and helping them achieve their full potential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under the guidance of teaching staff.
