Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join a fantastic Secondary school in Crawley. The role involves supporting students across KS3 and KS4, particularly those with additional needs. This is an opportunity to be part of an inclusive community that values each student as an individual and strives for excellence in learning.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Provide support to students across KS3 and KS4 with a range of learning needs, both in the classroom and through intervention programmes.
  • Assist with small group revision and homework, focusing on SEN needs and core subjects such as Maths, English, and Science.
  • Support the emotional wellbeing of students through mentoring and encourage their attendance, collaborating with staff and parents.
  • Work with EHCPs/ILPs to offer tailored support that promotes academic progress.
  • Help develop positive behaviour for learning among students.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A commitment to understanding and supporting students as individuals.
  • Ability to adapt learning strategies to support student progress.
  • Experience in providing quality support and teaching through interventions and classroom assistance.
  • Familiarity with working with EHCPs/ILPs.
  • GCSEs in Maths, English, and Science or equivalent qualifications.
  • Relevant qualifications for working in schools (e.g., Level 3 Childcare).
  • A DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Experience working with Secondary age students.
