An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and positive Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school located in the Birmingham B91 area. This is a highly rewarding role that involves providing tailored support to students with special educational needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1-1 support to students with special educational needs
  • Implement and adapt learning to meet student's individual needs and learning capabilities
  • Collaborate with the SENCo and other professionals to provide progress updates
  • Support the student in a variety of subjects, ensuring engagement with learning and reinforcing lesson objectives
  • Foster positive relationships within the setting, creating an inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification/degree is desirable
  • Previous experience of working with children/young people on an individual or group basis
  • An understanding of special educational needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An Enhanced DBS and two references are a requirement for this role
