Teaching Assistant based in a Knotty Ash Primary School!

Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term

Start Date: September 2024

The school in Knotty Ash is dedicated to providing a supportive and engaging learning environment for all our students. We believe in nurturing each child's potential and ensuring they receive the individual attention they need to succeed. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team in September for a full-time, long-term role.

Role and Responsibilities: As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting individual students, helping them to achieve their full potential academically and socially. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing personalised support in line with the student's individual education plan (IEP).
  • Assisting the student with classroom tasks and ensuring they remain focused and engaged.
  • Adapting learning activities and materials to meet the student's unique needs.
  • Supporting the student's social and emotional development through positive reinforcement.
  • Collaborating with the class teacher and special educational needs coordinator (SENCO) to monitor and report on the student's progress.
  • Creating an inclusive and encouraging classroom environment.
  • Promoting the student's independence and self-confidence.

Qualifications and Skills: The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A relevant qualification in education or childcare.
  • Previous experience working with children in a 1:1 support role, preferably in a primary school setting.
  • A patient, compassionate, and nurturing approach to working with children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A proactive and flexible attitude.
  • A commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students.
