Job Title: Teaching Assistant (SEN Experience)
Location: Newent, Gloucestershire
Contract Type: Full-time, 5 days a week
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) within the classroom. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
- Providing one-on-one support to students with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met.
- Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging students to stay on task.
- Collaborating with other staff members to create an inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
- SEN Experience:
You must have prior experience working with students with special educational needs. This could include experience in a school setting, voluntary work, or caring for children with SEN. - Minimum 40 Days Experience:
Candidates should have completed at least 40 days of experience in a primary school within the last 5 years. - Qualifications:
While formal qualifications are not mandatory, any relevant certifications or training related to SEN would be advantageous. - Positive Attitude:
We are looking for someone who is patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting students with diverse needs.
