If you are a Religious Studies Teacher and are keen to work in East London, we may have the perfect role for you.

We are seeking a Religious Studies Teacher who is totally aligned to our values of Hard Work, Integrity and Kindness, and completely committed to our mission: to ensure that every student will succeed at a good university or equivalent, thrive in their chosen field and live a great life.

The successful candidate will join a strong department of specialists who are passionate about their subject and work with students who are fully dedicated to their studies. The curriculum includes, and extends beyond, the national curriculum requirements for Religious Education. If you are up for the challenge we would love to hear from you.

Our award-winning building is outstanding and is based at our stunning canal-side location, a short walk from Haggerston Station and just over a mile from the heart of the City of London.

We educate 900 students in Years 7-11, and our Sixth Form caters for 250 students in Year 12 - 13. Our specialist subjects, Music and Mathematics, sit alongside a broad and rich curriculum; the school timetable has been designed to ensure that there is room for special projects and enrichment and club activities, working with some of the most prestigious organisations in London.

A lot of time has been invested into working in partnership with local primary schools to create the best possible experience for students moving on to secondary school. It means that our students have had the chance to get to know the Academy team before they arrive and the team is able to establish links with their parents as part of this. By understanding every child individually, the Academy ensures that every student receives the highest standard of teaching and support.

Our Academy is an academic, inclusive and inspirational environment where innovative thinking and creativity are encouraged and aspirations are raised. We have unlimited aspirations and a belief that anything is possible, and for this reason we are a centre of excellence for learning.

At the Academy, you can benefit from the following:

  • Excellent student behaviour and highly supportive Senior Leadership Team.
  • An Achievement-oriented culture where students work hard and it is cool to be smart.
  • A warm/strict approach, meaning that our high standards do not come at the expense of inclusion.
  • The belief that teaching must be a sustainable profession: clear systems and structures, sensible approach to feedback and no 'late night culture’.
