About the School:

GSL Education is working with an Ofsted graded ‘Good’ Secondary School in Hull, to appoint a full-time Teacher of Art and Design to start from the 20th of May, or from September 2024. The school is a vibrant and well-respected secondary school located in Hull, with a mission statement ‘We aim to enable every young person to fulfil their academic potential, providing foundations for them to excel in all that they do and to leave prepared to achieve all their ambitions’.

Teacher of Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Art and Design to join our team, from the 20th of May until the end of the academic year (with looks to stay further). The successful candidate will deliver engaging and effective Art lessons to students across various year groups 7 to 11.

Key Responsibilities as a Teacher of Art:

  • To plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Art lessons in accordance with the national curriculum.
  • To differentiate teaching methods and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • To monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to facilitate academic growth.
  • To collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the development of the Art curriculum and departmental initiatives.
  • To maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters students' enthusiasm for Art and Design.

As the ideal Teacher of Art, you should have:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Minimum of 6 months UK Art teaching experience or be an Early Career Teacher.
  • Have a Degree in Art or a related subject area.
  • Be able to differentiate and scaffold lesson plans to suit the needs of all students.
  • Have strong subject knowledge and a passion for Art and Design.
  • Have excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
