Job purpose -

  • Managing client relationships by facilitating communication between clients, HMRC, and the Director to ensure successful delivery and strategic tax planning solutions for both personal and corporate tax matters.
  • Collaborating closely with Directors and Managers on technical assignments and projects.
  • Conducting comprehensive research to support Director's decision-making process.
  • Participating in client meetings alongside the appropriate Director/Manager, conducting thorough research, and documenting key discussions to serve as the main point of contact for clients moving forward.
  • Cultivating strong client relationships by delivering efficient, client-focused, and proactive services to address their specific needs.
  • Drafting necessary correspondence and documentation aligned with our in-house branding, under the guidance of the Director.
  • Providing support to the Accounts Manager and her team during peak periods, addressing tax inquiries related to CGT, IHT, income tax planning, and VAT to ensure compliance with all deadline dates.
  • Assisting the Accounts Manager in analysing and forecasting financial reports, identifying potential issues, trends, and opportunities for improvement.

Key skills and qualities -

  • A minimum of 2 year's experience in a professional accountancy environment.
  • To hold an ATT or formal tax qualification or qualified by experience.
  • Confidence in engaging with clients to offer tax solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge on VAT, income tax planning, CGT and IHT.Able to work independently with appropriate support and concurrently managing a number of cases for clients.
  • Knowledge and use Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and accountancy packages such as Xero and CCH.
  • Full driving licence.
