Join the Team as an Endpoint Systems Administrator on a 2-Year Fixed-Term Contract at a leading University!

About the Institution:

As part of the Infrastructure Team within the Technology division of IT Services, this educational institution is dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the technology ecosystem supporting teaching, research, and professional services functions. The Endpoint Systems Team plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency, security, and reliability of the managed desktop estate. Starting ASAP, paying up to £45,000 per annum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installs and tests new versions of system software, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Investigates and resolves potential and actual service problems, following formal procedures.
  • Audits desktop delivery functions to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Monitors system efficiency and performance against service level agreements.
  • Reviews and implements desktop operating system releases, upgrades, and security patches.
  • Collaborates with suppliers to obtain corrective code and ensure permanent resolutions for system failures.

Requirements:

  • Experience in desktop administration and support within large and complex organizations.
  • Proficiency in application packaging and delivery in Windows and MacOS environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in automated operating system and desktop application deployment.
  • Familiarity with scripting, automation, SCCM, Group Policy, endpoint protection, and patching.
  • Knowledge of software packaging tools such as AdminStudio.
  • Experience with Intune and other endpoint management tools for seamless desktop user experiences.
  • Awareness of emerging trends in application packaging and endpoint management solutions.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • ITIL V4 certification
  • Intune SCCM certification
  • Certified Microsoft Endpoint Administrator
