The difference you will make as a Surveyor
As a Surveyor in our newly established Damp and Mould Team, you will play a crucial role in conducting comprehensive surveys, generating detailed reports and offering recommendations to mitigate dampness and mould problems effectively.

Role profile
  • Conduct thorough inspections of properties to identify the presence of dampness, mould growth and associated issues.
  • Utilise specialised equipment and techniques to measure moisture levels, assess ventilation systems and detect potential sources of dampness and mould.
  • Evaluate the extent of damage caused by dampness and mould, including structural integrity, health hazards and aesthetic concerns.
  • Collaborate with tenants, contractors and other stakeholders to gather relevant information and address concerns regarding dampness and mould.
  • Generate detailed survey reports outlining findings, observations and recommendations for remedial actions.
  • Advise stakeholders on effective strategies for preventing and managing dampness and mould problems, including moisture control measures, ventilation improvements and building maintenance practices.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, regulations and best practices related to dampness and mould assessment and remediation.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to colleagues and clients regarding the identification, prevention and treatment of dampness and mould issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of survey data, reports, correspondence and other relevant documentation.


Person specification
Essential
  • Working towards HNC/HND in construction / building services.
  • Experience of building surveying and Damp/Mouldrac
  • Strong knowledge of building construction principles, materials, and systems, particularly as they relate to dampness and mould issues.
  • Proven track record of working in a customer focused environment.
  • Basic knowledge of construction methods.
  • Basic knowledge of Building Regulations, Health & Safety and other statutory/regulatory standards.
  • Basic knowledge of CDM requirements.
  • Basic commercial acumen.
  • Knowledge of SOR’s.
  • Ability to prepare reports. 
Desirable
  • Educated to degree level in construction / building services.
  • Experience of working in social housing and in partnership with a local authority client.
  • Managing, monitoring, recording and reporting of Health & Safety and compliance.
  • Asbestos identification and actions. 
  • Experience in construction or building industry.
  • Contract management system competency.
