Job Title - Social Worker - Supporting and Strengthening Families Team

Location - South Tyneside Council

South Tyneside Council are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our Supporting and Strengthening Families (SSF) teams. As a Social Worker within their Supporting and Strengthening Families teams, you will work closely with families and other professionals to identify and build upon strengths. Your role will involve supporting families to ensure the care arrangements for their children are safe and conducive to their well-being. You will be part of a small, supportive team, benefiting from high levels of guidance, oversight, and access to a visible and approachable management team.

Responsibilities

• Engage with families to assess needs, strengths, and risks
• Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with families and other professionals
• Provide direct support and intervention to families in crisis or in need of assistance
• Work within a Strength-Based Practice Framework to build trusting and respectful relationships with families
• Offer leadership and support to less experienced social workers within the team
• Maintain accurate and timely records of all interventions and interactions

Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker with relevant experience in Children's Services
• Highly developed knowledge and skills in safeguarding and child protection
• Commitment to providing an outstanding service to children and young people
• Ability to work collaboratively with families and other professionals
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills
• Registered with Social Work England
