An established charitable organisation is currently looking to recruit a full-time Supported Housing Officer based in the Stevenage area on a temporary to permanent basis to support young homeless clients.

Location: Stevenage
Hours: Early or late's (8am-4pm or 12pm -8pm) Monday to Friday
Duration: Temporary to permanent
Salary: £16.00 per hour via an umbrella company (permanent salary £27,427)

Supported Housing Officer – The role involves:
• Manage a case load of young people within the supported living environment
• Working with a caseload of clients including young people UK residents as well as Children seeking asylum (UASC) who have no responsible adult to care for them are separated or ‘unaccompanied’, and are therefore ‘in need’
• Deliver emotional and life skills based support, assisting service users with day to day tasks
• Complete support plans and risk assessments with the service users
• Enforce tenancy conditions in line with procedures including low level anti-social behaviour and rent arrears
• Offer specialist knowledge and insight into rent arrears helping tenants with budgeting
• Carry out regular estate inspections
• Offer advice and assistance to tenants regarding their benefit entitlements
• Provide support and advice to tenants in relation to issues concerning their tenancies
• Manage void properties to ensure the quickest re-let times including carrying out viewings and sign-ups

Essential requirements:
• Must have experience in tenancy sustainment or working with vulnerable people
• An enhanced DBS check from within the last 3 years or willingness to obtain a new one
• Excellent communication skills and basic IT skills are essential
