Role: Support Practitioner

Location: Gobowen, (SY11)

Hourly Rate: £11.68 - £13.50 (rising to £12.82 - £14.50 from 1st April)

Excell Supply are looking for candidates who would be interested in Support Practitioner roles. The setting offers residential and day placements to students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), aged 16 – 25.

As a Support Practitioner, you will work with individuals who have a wide range of support needs, providing them with practical and emotional support and encouraging them to achieve their own personal outcomes in all aspects of their daily lives e.g. keeping safe, meaningful activities, community involvement, physical health, relationships, emotional health and wellbeing.

Students at the College have a choice of pathway areas, with subjects including:

• Business Support
• Horticulture
• Hospitality
• Retail and Enterprise
• Performing Arts
• Sales and Marketing
• Sport and Fitness

When I asked what a ‘typical’ day looked like, I was told no two days are the same, but some responsibilities include:

• Personal Care
• Helping students to prepare breakfast
• Supporting students in their curriculum involvement
• Assisting students with their Work Experience.
• Developing the student’s capabilities in home care and food preparation

The college are looking for candidates to work the following shifts:

Dailies: 7:30am – 5pm / 4pm – 11pm

Waking Nights: 10pm – 8am

Weekends: 8am – 5pm / 4pm – 11pm
