Supply Chain Planning Specialist – 39565

Contract Position based at Whitley, Coventry

Rate: £28.41/hr Umbrella – inside IR35

Hybrid working: 2 days office, 3 WFH

Position Description:

You will have the opportunity to join the Material Planning team within the Global Parts Operations, which is responsible for strategy, planning, release, pricing, revenue generation and availability of service parts and accessories. Within Parts Operations, the Supply Team manages suppliers to ensure the availability of parts to the retailer network.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Manage parts portfolio and associate supply base to ensure schedule compliance is achieved and parts availability is maximised
  • Co-ordinate and facilitate regular performance reviews with suppliers as required
  • Establish supply delivery ETA for critical customer requirements against tight timescales, and provide progress details to Customer Service agents
  • Expedite material from suppliers in line with schedule requirements
  • Establish recovery plans with suppliers and negotiate improvements where applicable.
  • Escalate to as appropriate.
  • Work cross functionally both internally and externally to verify and/or resolve queries on supplier deliveries
  • Work with suppliers to identify root cause issues and deliver improvements in performance, back order reduction and parts availability

Skills Required:

  • Previous experience in a planning/procurement role within an aftermarket or manufacturing facility.
  • Experience of the parts business with a broad understanding of the individual functions (and their interdependency) within the Parts Operation business.
  • Ability to forge excellent working relationships with internal partners, 3PL’s and external suppliers.
  • Ability to use appropriate questioning to establish root cause for failure to supply On Time In Full.
  • Ability to demonstrate/articulate steps taken to recover a failed delivery before appropriate escalation.
  • A high level of analytical ability to support data driven decision making.
  • A resilient and enthusiastic individual who can work in a fast changing/evolving environment.
  • Adaptable open mind to a changing/evolving environment.
  • Well organised with a process orientated mind-set with great attention to detail and ability to manage priorities.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software.
  • A positive attitude and the willingness to develop/upskill.
