Job Description

As a Supply Chain Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of supply chain processes. You will be responsible for coordinating the flow of materials, products, and information between suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and customers. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate procurement activities, including placing purchase orders, tracking order status, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and components.
  • Generate production batches, scheduling production steps in line with the production plan. Generate work to lists and sub-contract schedules.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements to optimize cost savings and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Manage inventory levels to meet production schedules while minimizing excess stock and obsolescence.
  • Monitor and analyse supply chain performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, logistics, quality assurance, and finance, to ensure alignment and timely resolution of supply chain issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, orders, and shipments using our ERP system or other relevant software.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of supply chain strategies to support business objectives and drive continuous improvement.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to proactively address potential risks and opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in supply chain coordination, manufacturing, or a planning / stock controller position
  • Strong understanding of supply chain processes, including procurement, inventory management, and logistics.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO) related to medical device manufacturing is a plus.

£30,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience)
