Job Summary

The role will provide strategic sourcing experience within the Business Services & IT categories, leading end-to-end procurement projects, developing category strategies and managing supplier relationships to ensure our procurements are competitive, compliant and stakeholder friendly. You’ll develop effective supply strategies for your area of spend alongside key business stakeholders, that contribute to savings, improve the efficiency and quality of the business and collaborate with suppliers to innovate.

Role mainly home based with some travel to London / Leeds / Leicester office

Salary:

£45,000 – 50,000

Essential Job Duties

  • Work collaboratively as part of the Group Procurement team as a supportive business partner to assigned business functions (Business Services & IT). Understanding business requirements and the category procurement strategies to formulate and deliver clear procurement plans for all procurement activities undertaken.
  • Produce tender and contract documents, support compilation of specifications, service levels and related key performance indicators alongside other teams to procure and implement contracts, ensuring compliance with procurement policies.
  • Manage supplier relationships to prioritise procurement efforts in driving improvement in value for money, performance, quality, service and innovation. Take responsibility for developing key relationships ensuring involvement of business functions to manage suppliers in a collaborative manner.
  • Work alongside business functions to evaluate procurement options available on internal requirements and bids, maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Negotiation of contractual agreements and service levels to ensure maximum value and compliance, working alongside legal to incorporate any business development requirements.
  • Actively engage in the development of the supply chain & procurement function, which includes supporting change in policy, process and performance with prompt reporting on progress in all these areas.

Essential

Demonstratable experience in the management of end-to-end procurement activities.

Experience of delivering complex procurement solutions.

Knowledge of key contractual clauses and experience negotiating them.

Able to demonstrate commercial and financial acumen, must be able to articulate the benefits of defined procurement strategies.

Ability to work collaboratively with others across business functions.

Excellent communications skills, able to prepare detailed documentation and reports to agreed standards.

Excellent project management and organisation skills.

Driving license and ability to travel throughout UK.

Desirable

CIPS qualification or purchasing qualification

Experience of working within the outsourced services sector

Experience of working in Health Services organisation

Experience of managing procurements within the business services category (Legal, Facilities, Marketing, Travel)

Experience of managing procurements within the technology services category
