Supplier Development Engineer

Stafford, Staffordshire / £29.30 per hour PAYE / Umbrella available / 6 month Contract rolling / Full time, Mon - Friday

The Role:

Assesses the supplier quality and ensures that all the products are free from defects and are in compliance with manufacturing specifications and legal standards.

Duties and repsonsibilites:

  • Ensuring the quality of supplies by conducting tests and assessments on incoming supplies to identify any quality issues
  • Developing supplier inspection, testing, and evaluation mechanism.
  • Generating reports on supplier quality, by monitoring their defect rates and areas that can lead to potential flaws; Guiding suppliers to reduce these defect rates.
  • Researching the potential vendors, assessing their manufacturing environment, practices, and procedures
  • Conducting supplier quality control audits to ensure compliance with organizational and federal policies and standards.
  • Supporting suppliers in improving their performance through process enhancements, implementing process controls, and developing quality assurance plans.

Projects to support:

  • NPI support required within this role, a new engine which will be launched which will need the contractors focus.
  • Supplier performance monitoring and development for the contractor to be involved in.
  • Within these projects, you will be working with purchasing and material planning teams, supplier facing quality.
  • You will need to build relationships and links with the shop floor and the engineering group.
  • Role provides some cross over with company strategies so you will great exposure within the business.
