Structures Technician (Assembly)
Stevenage
£21.74 per hour +20% shift allowance
initially 6 months
1-stage interview (skills test)
Mon-Fri shifts + overtime (nights/weekends)

Advantage Resourcing is working in partnership with a large engineering company that operates within the aerospace industry and is currently seeking an experienced Structures Technician who will produce a consistently high-quality product in line with production paperwork, whilst maintaining alignment with quality, cost, and delivery.

What will you be doing:
* Identify and address irregularities, coordinating with Team Leader/Engineering to update documentation for accurate build sequence and data capture.
* Adhere to LDS, following specified methods, processes, area requirements, and safety protocols.
* Advocate for Cleanroom regulations, local safety guidelines, and 5S policy in work areas.
* Interpret and follow shop floor documentation, adhering to process standards in the skills matrix.
* Complete operation-related paperwork and report errors to the Manufacturing Engineer.
* Replenish Kanban supplies and monitor tool calibration, notifying leaders of discrepancies.
* Track progress and report to the Lead Technician/Team Lead as needed, contributing to shop floor meetings.
* Actively maintain 5S disciplines and participate in continuous improvement.
* Provide coverage for higher technical support and support the team in achieving quality, cost, and time objectives.


A couple of things you should know:
* Previous experience such as Composite manufacturing, mechanical fitter, close tolerance sheet metal worker, time served mechanical technician.
* Ability to work from detailed drawings and electronic work instructions - within specific procedures.
* Experience working with procedures with checkpoints/quality gates.
* Experience in industries such as Space/Aerospace/Automotive/Motorsport etc.
* Ability to work in confined spaces above floor level (Working at height)
* Experience working within a clean room environment being part of a team and leading activities.
