Berry Recruitment is currently seeking a Structural Engineer for a leading structural engineering client based in Truro.

You will be joining a new practice in its infancy, you will not only be able to put your existing experience to good use but also be able to gain and understanding and have involvement in the development of a new business!

The current work is mostly in the residential and commercial sectors on a wide spectrum of projects that range in size from small domestic alterations up to large multi-million projects in interesting locations throughout Devon and Cornwall.

We are looking for an engineer capable of creative thinking to resolve design challenges whilst undertaking the detailed structural design and analysis of elements and frames in concrete, steel, timber and masonry, liaising directly with architects and other members of the design team to meet project deadlines.

It's an excellent opportunity to be part of an already very busy and growing company. The existing team are welcoming and well established in their fields, so this also offers a great opportunity to learn and develop from them.

There will be the opportunity to complete inspections of existing buildings and site visits during construction to confirm design compliance.

All candidates need to have a suitable engineering degree MEng/BEng in civil or structural engineering,
ideally with 2+ years of experience and working towards chartership with the IStructE or ICE.

Strong communication, analysis and technical design skills are essential.

Salary is depending upon experience, £30k-£45k

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am- 5pm
