Street Scene Operative

Matching Staff Solutions are working alongside our established client to find a Street Scene Operative located in Exeter. This role is on a contract starting in April until November 2024 to cover long term sickness. Your role will be to keep the city and local environment clean, tidy and adequately maintained.

Monday to Friday - 07:30am - 16:00pm.

The Role

Your main duties will include:

• Grounds maintenance and vegetation management tasks such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, shrub bed maintenance using pedestrian and hand held equipment.
• Graffiti removal using chemicals or powered equipment.
• Removing litter, emptying litter bins and removing weed growth.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

• Knowledge of Health and Safety in an operational environment.
• Physical skills required to use machinery for several hours a day - predominantly cutting grass.
• Ability to solve straight forward problems.
• Communication skills required to exchange information with both staff and members of the public.
• Full UK driving license
• Must have previous gardening/horticultural experience
