Introduction:
Our client, a manufacturing company based in Chandlers Ford, is currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Stores Person to join their team. As a Stores Person, you will play a crucial role in the efficient management of incoming and outgoing goods, ensuring timely delivery to both manufacturing teams and customers.
Role and Responsibilities:
Safety:

  • Ensure safe movement, storage, and loading of products to prevent damage or defects
  • Regularly inspect storage facilities, plants, and equipment to maintain safety standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in stores, warehouse facilities, and yards
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Regulations and conduct relevant risk assessments
  • Deliver safety briefings and promote 5S lean principles


Quality:

  • Manage goods in, perform quality checks against purchase orders, and address any quality or quantity issues
  • Ensure proper storage and protection of products
  • Plan future storage capacity requirements
  • Package and load outgoing goods as per specifications
  • Deliver team briefings on company strategy, objectives, and performance


Productivity:

  • Pick and deliver goods on time in full
  • Monitor and review storage layouts to improve picking efficiency
  • Coordinate dispatch to minimize bottlenecks
  • Support stocktaking for accurate inventory control


Cost:

  • Select the most suitable haulage options for outward dispatch
  • Ensure goods are properly preserved and protected
  • Manage warehouse spacing to minimize costs


Key Competencies:

  • Building and leading teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar stores or warehouse environment
  • A level or above qualification
  • IOSH safety qualification or higher
  • Reach truck license
  • Counterbalance forklift license
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Applications


Hours:
8am - 4.30pm (Monday to Friday)
