Stores Assistant / Materials Controller

£24,000 - £26,000 per annum DOE

Mon - Fri, 8am - 4.30pm

Our Bedford based client are seeking an experienced Stores person to join their team as they expand. The Stores Person will be responsible for managing inventory, ensuring efficient storage and organisation of goods, and facilitating the dispatch of all products within their facilities. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will be part of a team of three Stores personnel, meaning attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously is crucial to the role.

Responsibilities:

• Receiving incoming goods
• Recording receipts
• Organising inventory
• Selecting and distributing products for sale
• Packaging items appropriately
• Ensuring accurate labelling for domestic shipments

Additional tasks:

• Assembling kits and allocating stock for work orders
• Supplying replenishment items to the production floor and managing inventory levels
• Packing goods for international shipments
• Compiling necessary documentation for exported goods
• Arranging shipments with international couriers

Requirements

• Methodical and precise in work approach.
• Conscientious and willing to adhere to guidelines.
• Eagerness to learn and develop skills.
• Capable of physical tasks with some lifting involved.
• Self-sufficient when working independently.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with colleagues.

Skills/Experience:

• Proven Stores Person experience
• Demonstrates a good level of general education and a willingness to learn.
• Proficient in computer usage.
• Previous experience in customer service, particularly in handling reactive situations, is advantageous.
