Sr Mechanical Design Engineer

A truly innovative engineering facility based in the West Midlands is now seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join their team. With an ageing senior management team, the plan is to find a future partner of the business who will be rewarded with share ownership in the mid-long term.

Reporting to the Director, the Senior Design Engineer will be granted the opportunity to work on projects from conception to implementation, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to offer practical yet innovative solutions. No two days are the same; you will be designing and manufacturing one-off machines that solve customer problems and inevitably save them money, using your knowledge with mechanical, automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics and electrical disciplines.

Some of the responsibilities for the Senior Design Engineer are listed below:

• Lead the design and development of one-off, innovative machines for a variety of clients.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand client needs and translate them into cutting-edge solutions.
• Leverage your expertise in mechanical, electrical, and other engineering disciplines.
• Champion creative problem-solving and embrace the challenge of tackling unique engineering obstacles.
• Oversee the entire design process, from concept to prototype and final build.
• Ensure designs meet all safety, regulatory, and manufacturing requirements.
• Onsite visits.

The ideal Senior Design Engineer will be:

• Capable of working on their own initiative.
• Running project designs builds whilst having the confidence to ask for help when needed.
• Possess excellent attention to detail and have a proactive can-do attitude.
• Enjoy working in a busy exciting environment.
• Experience in designing machines and fixtures.

Benefits:

• Salary: up to £55,000, dependant on experience
