SQl Developer
we are looking for a SQL Developer based near Wembley
Main Purpose of the role:
Provide support, development and understanding of the company’s SQL/Portal systems as well as aiding in the migration to a new platform.
Reporting to:
Head of IT
As an SQL Developer - you'll provide support, development and understanding of the company’s existing SQL/Portal systems as well as facilitating the migration and integration with new, 3rd party systems. This will require:
- Building your knowledge of the existing SQL/Portal systems including writing comprehensive documentation of those systems and their workings
- Investigating and rectifying any current identified system issues.
- Aiding in the data migration & batch based transactional data integration to a new 3rd party platform. This includes integrating with existing defined 3rd party API’s as well as developing any new API’s integrations into systems as required.
Please note that this position will be a flexible working role, primarily remote based via Teams, but with routine office attendance as and when deemed appropriate to facilitate the project.
Responsibilities / Essential Skills
- High level of Microsoft SQL proficiency
- Experience in or good developer knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, API
- Solid developer knowledge of Microsoft suite; MS SQL Server, C#, .NET Framework
- Enthusiasm for and commitment to producing high quality work within the frameworks.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex technical issues clearly and able to both high level and general audiences
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors to design, develop, operate, and implement the company’s database/information systems.
- Excellent problem solving skills and ability to think laterally.
- Undertake peer code reviews as and when required, and to provide constructive feedback.
- Attend regular, initially daily, meetings to review progress, deliverables and milestones on the projects
- Write clear and concise technical specifications based upon business requirements.
- Adhere to our coding standards and deliver code which is well structured and fit for purpose.
- Assist in the migration and implementation of existing SQL database/web portal to a new platform/application.
