SANZA Teaching Agency are seeking a teaching assistant for a delightful mainstream 2-form entry primary school in Harrow. The role will be a general teaching assistant in the early years (reception) and will also involves some general PE/sports cover across the school (reception to year 6). This means you will need to be comfortable delivering PE lessons from reception to year 6, across a range of sports.

The role is to start after Easter holidays (15th April), but the candidate would need to be available for a handover before the school holidays begin. Trials for the role will begin ASAP!

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• Collaborating with the class teacher to prepare and deliver lessons in reception
• Instilling the learning outcomes of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• Planning and conducting PE lessons intermittently from reception to year 6
• Providing support to children in their learning and development
• Offering feedback to the class teacher on the progress of the children
• Preparing learning resources and materials
• Engaging with children on a 1:1 and small group basis

ABOUT YOU:

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the teaching and learning in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), while also taking on the responsibility of delivering PE lessons as required from reception to year 6. The role will be approximately split 60/40, with roughly 60% of the week spent as the reception teaching assistant, and the remaining 40% of the week delivering PE lessons throughout the school.

• Prior experience as a teaching assistant within a primary school
• A strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum
• Experience in sports, PE, or coaching
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Active and sports focused
• The ability to work collaboratively as an integral part of a team
